Hannah Clarke's killer's final words as he ambushed wife, kids revealed

The last words Hannah Clarke's estranged husband said to her when he ambushed her and their three children have been revealed at the inquest into their deaths.

Ms Clarke had burns to 97 per cent of her body after Rowan Baxter doused her in petrol and set the family alight in their car. But the mother-of-three still managed to tell police what happened when he appeared on the morning school run.Senior Constable Angus Skaines took her statement saying Baxter jumped into Ms Clarke's car and said: "I wanted to see my children." She told him to "get out".

"I know Hannah was incredibly courageous at the scene, given the level of her injuries, and it certainly affected everyone who attended the scene," Dr Stephen Rashford from the Queensland Ambulance Service said. Paramedic Stephanie Ring was the first to arrive and she told the inquest Ms Clarke said: "My babies are in the car, my children are in the car. Why didn't I just stay in the car with them?""I'm aware that every one of the people who attended the scene attempted to reassure Hannah at her time of need," Dr Rashford said.
