Australia's east coast is bracing for wild weather with Sydney expected to be lashed by torrential rain while a cyclone brews off Queensland, with storms forecast throughout the next few days. 9News

“Roads and some watercourses could become dangerous during this time, but at this point it’s hard to pinpoint which exact areas will see the most rainfall.”

BOM forecaster Michael Gray said while the system was currently not a threat to Queensland, meteorologists were keeping a close eye on it regardless. The Sunshine State is, however, expected to be hit by possible thunderstorms and rain over the next few days.
