A man has been arrested after five shots were fired inside Canberra Airport, sending passengers running in fear and causing flights to be diverted.
A video from the airport shows police detaining a man as travellers look on from other sections of the terminal. “It is our understanding that the male arrived at the airport, that he has not gone through any flight screening process, we have no information to suggest that,” he said at a press conference on Sunday afternoon.
“There seems to be a lot of people running and no one seems to be answering our radio calls,” they say.
