When handing down the sentences, Justice David Jackson said the pair's conduct was "incomprehensible" The court heard Stokes had told his partner, Moore, that another child had inflicted the injuries on the toddler, and the couple had not called an ambulance until she suffered a cardiac arrest five days later.
Ms Farnden told the court that medical experts determined it would have been "obvious" the toddler needed urgent emergency treatment and her injuries would have likely worsened over time."If that medical [treatment] had been provided, her chance of survival would have been 100 per cent."
