Former New Zealand cricketer Simon Doull has slammed Indian Premier League favouritism for "second rate Australians" after the Black Caps thumped the Aussies in the opening T20 international on Monday.at Hagley Oval, powered by 99 not out from Devon Conway.

Eight Australian players were picked up in the IPL auction: Glenn Maxwell, Jhye Richardson, Riley Meredith, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Dan Christian, Moises Henriques, Steve Smith and Ben Cutting. Devon Conway plays a reverse sweep during the first T20 international between Australia and New Zealand. While Conway is starring for New Zealand, he is another South African product playing for an adopted nation. He only became eligible for the Black Caps in August last year.
