What's next:A Goolwa wildlife photographer is among a growing number of people who say they are fed up with beach visitors driving into the dunes and leaving piles of rubbish for others to deal with.
Like many others who express their frustration on local social media groups, particularly after busy holiday times, Ms Downing said she was getting fed up and frustrated with the growing damage being done to the dunes as people ignored signs, drove up in the dunes to camp, and left their rubbish behind."Too much promotion without any additional infrastructure or, and most importantly, care or thought about possible consequences.
He said the council had been meeting with SA Water and South Australia Police to look at ways to improve and control the access to the beach, including a potential permit system to record the vehicles going onto the beach. "We are aware that Goolwa Beach is a problem and we're really tightening up in the four-wheel drive community so it doesn't get closed down," he said.
"A lot of that would come out of the stormwater drains in Victor Harbor and the southerlies pick it up and then blow it back on the beach," he said.
