Five men inside the unidentified car got out and allegedly used a knife to menace the driver of a third vehicle, a black Honda, that stopped near the crash to help. The men then drove off in the 2009 black Honda Accord with a NSW license plate reading "EDB 35X", police said.

The 19-year-old woman was taken to St George Hospital in a stable condition with cuts, bruises and a suspected broken hand. NSW Ambulance acting Inspector Paul Sweetland said it was "quite amazing" the woman had not suffered more severe injuries. Police warned anyone who sees the stolen Honda not to approach it or its occupants, who are believed to be dangerous, but to report it to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
