Goldman Sachs’ co-head of equities, Ben Clifford, has left the Wall Street bank.

Goldman Sachs’ co-head of equities, Ben Clifford, has left the Wall Street bank and is expected to pursue a new venture in the funds management sector.Co-head of equities Mario Argyrides will assume sole responsibility of Goldman’s equities unit.

It is understood Clifford, who joined Goldman five years ago from Macquarie, resigned late last year. Prior to Goldman, Clifford worked for 12 years with Macquarie in Sydney and Tokyo, including as head of sales trading for Australia. co-edits Street Talk, specialising in private equity, investment banking, M&A and equity capital markets. He has 10 years' experience as a business journalist and worked at PwC, auditing and advising financial services companies.
