When in Rome do as the Romans do. Ever heard of that expression. Says a lot.
Yes, I love Australia, if I can bend the rule to suit what I like mentality.
I have sympathy with the girl, however, since it is a religious school, they would have their own customs and policies, hence better to change the school and move on!!!
Live on an island with 4+ million hindu’s, never seen a female nose-stud. Fashion not religion.
The school needs to revise it's policies!
1. It’s a cultural thing not religious 2. Catholic Schools do intake non-Catholics coz it’s about making money at the end of the day. 3. A school ask which parish or religion a student is before allowing them to attend.
I’m with the school. It’s not a religious nose ring at all.
So she goes to a catholic school and thinks her religious rules are more important than the catholic religious school rules she attends go to a school that lets you where whatever you want and stop playing the religious victim card
A Christian school which the headline didn't mention. Why is she going to a Christian school then Public schools take every religion
Grow up! Nose ring has nothing to do with religious aspect of Hinduism other than something worn when you’re at a marriageable age. For crying out loud you are in Year 10. It seems to me this automatically becomes an issue or race/culture/religion when it clearly is not the case!
School rules are rules aren’t they
Sorry private school. I know you lot hate them, but if you don’t want to follow their rules go public
Why are you practising your culture of you call yourself Australian? Huh?! 🤣🤣🤣
She refused to remove it when asked. She and her parents knew piercings were forbidden in a Catholic school. FakeNews
Nose studio not for religious purpose. Just an excuse. Jewelry is jewelry. SBSNews Hindu
😂
I know right! I told my high school it’s our religious custom to dress in men nappie commando style. They refused and I put on the uniform pant. (No there’s no such religious thing. I was trying to pass my dare) :p
Catholic schools get gov taxpayer funding. This girl can wear what she likes
She mustn’t have worn it when she went in for initial interview otherwise she would have been told it was against school rules, which apply to everyone attending.
Once again... these are private schools with a very clear and defined uniform policy available for the parents and students before they start their first day. If you don’t like the rules don’t go to that school. This is the parents fault for not reading the rules.
Most respectable schools dont allow facial piercings so stop trying to make this a religious thing
She's not wrong.
Didn't know a nose stud was religious. What religion anyway?
