A third-straight series triumph is within their grasp, but the Queensland Maroons face several burning questions that need answering.

Here, we break down some of the concerns coach Billy Slater’s men will seek to address in State of Origin game two.It took just seven minutes for Reece Walsh’s night to end in game one, after a dangerous contractJoseph Suaalii was sent off for this high shot on Reece Walsh.

Rival coach Michael Maguire did not go into how his Blues planned to contain Walsh: “I think we put a lot of focus on all their players, so it’s not the individual”.Reece Walsh with fans at a Queensland Maroons media day at the Toowoomba Sports Ground last Tuesday.Slater has been seen at training plotting how to inject him through the middle of the field among his side’s smaller, more nimble forwards, while also linking up with fellow speed sensation Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow.

But Hunt threw his support behind Holmes, adamant Mitchell’s inclusion had not affected the Maroons’ preparation. While they had 12 men on the field for much of game one, and thus the scoreline blew out, NSW sensed blood in the water. Only Pat Carrigan and Lindsay Collins ran for more than 90 metres among the Maroons pack, while Haas, Leniu, Olakauatu, Angus Crichton and Isaah Yeo all passed 100 metres for the Blues.
