A US jury has found former police officer Derek Chauvin guilty
Chauvin, who pinned Mr Floyd to the ground with his knee last May, was found guilty on all three charges against him — second-degree murder, third-degree murder and manslaughter — and could be sent to prison for decades. The Minneapolis courthouse was ringed with concrete barriers and razor wire, and thousands of National Guard troops and law enforcement officers were brought in ahead of the outcome.
He panicked, pleaded that he was claustrophobic and struggled with police when they tried to put him in a squad car.The centrepiece of the case was the bystander video of Mr Floyd gasping repeatedly, “I can’t breathe”, and onlookers yelling at Chauvin to stop as the officer pressed his knee on or close to Mr Floyd's neck for what authorities said was nine-and-a-half minutes.

Just waiting to see if Sam Newman repeats the comments he made last year in his podcast 'You can't be serious' on which he said 'George Floyd was a piece of shit, a druggie and a crim'. He also said Black Lives matter was political correctness gone mad.

I was expecting manslaughter, but not necessarily the murder charges. Huge pressure on the jury though. An appeal seems likely.

The face of a killer. If the facial proportions that equate with beauty can B described, I wonder if someone could do some research on facial proportions that might predict psychopathic tendencies? I seem 2 see some similarity in the faces of criminals I see on TV & in the media.
100%. Now justice for 20 year old Daunte Wright. Shot dead by an incompetent, poorly trained officer who doesn't know the difference between left and right? Then there's Rayshard Brooks, shot in the back while running. Penalty for the officer responsible? He lost his job?
It was a forgone conclusion based on threats of violence from BLM, Chauvin was never going to get a fair trial. Imagine being a juror getting doxxed for not voting guilty...
He’s convicted most likely is because the authorities are afraid of the consequences of the not guilty verdict. Otherwise, there may not be even a slap on his wrist.
Anyone have 20 word or less explainer of why the higher charge isn't the one they go with? How's it 2nd degree and 3rd degree, and also manslaughter?
