Industry and Science Minister Ed Husic says the government should not be in a position where it has to “contemplate a very strong range of actions” to reign in energy prices on behalf of households and businesses.

“We’ve got a cabinet process that we’re going through, we’re thinking through various options to respond to a problem that people want us to deal with, which is the expected increase in energy prices over the next year,” Mr Husic told Sky News Australia.

“I’ve been very vocal on the need to get prices down from an industry perspective, and I do think the gas companies could’ve done more sooner on that.”

Very easy to fix. Increase supply and keep low cost power plants running until alternatives are in full operation

But you are in this position, unlike WA whose state government took strong action over a decade ago and do not have this shortage or price rise problem. Get on with it.

Prince Harry’s ‘over-the-top admiration’ for Meghan ‘concerned’ late QueenThe late Queen Elizabeth II – along with 'everyone' else in the Royal Family – was rather concerned by Prince Harry's 'over-the-top admiration' for Meghan Markle, according to Royal biographer Tom Bower. Mr Bower made the remarks during a recent interview with GB News host Dan Wootton, discussing excerpts from author Gyles Brandreth's upcoming new biography 'Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait'. 🤪🤡 Rubbish, where or who does the direction for all this anti Meghan BS come from? Who's jealous? Is it old mate himself? It's fvcking embarrassing. Had Murdoch got you on attack again ? Tom Bower is at the level of needing a restraining order . The royal sociopaths probably do despise real emotion though - gets in the way of pure power. Love scares the living hell out of conservatives. They don't make love, they just breed. Sometimes...they just inbreed.

‘Owe it to the people’: Barnaby Joyce demands ‘total transparency’ from LaborNationals MP Barnaby Joyce has demanded 'total transparency' from Labor after new government analysis has shown the closure of coal-powered energy plants in the New South Wales Hunter region will be devastating for the economy and jobs. The document shows the unemployment rate will spike, indirect jobs will be affected, and wealth will diminish in the region. 'It is incumbent upon a government to be honest to the Australian people,' Mr Joyce told Sky News Australia. The report is called 'Estimated impacts of CFPS and associated coal-mine closures' – it was commissioned in October and has been done by the climate change department. Mr Joyce said the Labor Party has been 'hiding the direct effects of a document they commissioned'. 'What they should do today, immediately, is table the full report,' Mr Joyce said. 'Because they owe it to the Australian people to be direct and honest. 'Let's see if they'll give us the full document so that we can have total transparency. 'Because the people who are going to be kicked to the curb deserve that.' Isn’t this the same bloke who showed zero transparency while in the position of Drought envoy? And the same happened to Elizabeth when Holden's shut under the libs. Bad luck and find new employment opportunities just like others needed to do. 640 jobs linked to those power stations

‘Dangerous myth’: Race is not a ‘hard line’ that ‘divides us’Sky News host Andrew Bolt says the idea race is a “hard line” that “divides us” is a myth – and a dangerous one. This comes after Indigenous Australians Minister Linda Burney delivered a speech in parliament on Tuesday about her upbringing, defending the Indigenous Voice to Parliament proposal. Mr Bolt said Ms Burney seems to have had a choice to identify as Scottish, Aboriginal, or just as 'Linda Burney, Australian – race irrelevant”. “In fact, the genealogists at dark-emu-exposed.org have traced her mother's side of the family all the way to King Robert II of Scotland. She is Scottish royalty, at a distance,” he said. “My point is this, race is increasingly a choice. Indeed, 130,000 Australians who chose to call themselves Aboriginal in the last two censuses had decided not to do that in the census before.” What's racist is no consent, no treaties, bogus sovereignty, thieving, illegal colonists refusing to acknowledge prior ownership of country when the prior owners aren't of their race. This 'click-bait for cookers' media has no place in our democracy. This style of fear and loathing reporting seeks to manufacture hatred, and then tries to cash in on it. A Royal Commission can no longer be ignored. auspol

PM slams Morrison’s secret ministerial appointments as ‘abuse of power’Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has spoken on the censure motion against Scott Morrison over his secret ministries scandal, slamming the former prime minister's actions as an 'abuse of power'. “This House of Representatives has a responsibility to declare its view on what occurred with these extraordinary actions by the former prime minister,' Mr Albanese said in parliament on Wednesday. “I wake up every single day vey cognisant of the honour that I have as serving as Australia’s 31st prime minister, I’m also very aware of the responsibility that comes with it. 'I’m also very conscious of the power that comes with it – power should never be abused, this was an abuse of power and a trashing of our democracy.” Calling is a more appropriate choice of word than slamming in this context. Write like adults. Is that anything like trying to setup a secretive arm of Govt funded by all Australians & embedding it in the constitution that will have powers to do ..well apparently we're not allowed to know. Will it improve indigenous health, education, jobs, housing, safety for the vulnerable? Mr Anthony Albanese going after Scomo, you have Dan Andrews of whom is the most corrupted politician are you going to censure Andrews or is this what Labor supports, where Andrews controls the VEC, ran out of pallot papers and stole Ian Cooks votes this is worst than Scomo.
