The Giants are back on track after a slow start following the resumption of the AFL season, as they register a gripping upset win over another of the premiership contenders, Collingwood.

A dramatic late goal from Jeremy Cameron has reignited Greater Western Sydney's hunt for a maiden AFL premiership, helping the Giants pip another of the flag favourites, Collingwood, by two points. The Giants lost Phil Davis and Zac Williams to hamstring injuries during the matchToby Greene finished with a match-high three goals, while Lachie Whitfield's run and class laid the platform for his side to prevail 10.6 to 9.10 at Giants Stadium.

But last year's Coleman medallist Cameron, who otherwise had a reasonably quiet night, marked on the cusp of the 50-metre arc and close to the boundary line. The scrappy nature of the contest was largely a by-product of both teams' pressure and desperation in their first re-match since last year's preliminary final.

The teams were locked at 4.4 apiece at the major break before the hosts busted the match open, booting three consecutive goals in the space of six minutes early in the third term.
