She was murdered by Hamas terrorists outside her home in Be'eri Kibbutz, about 5 kilometres from the Gaza border.The federal government confirms Australian grandmother Galit Carbone was killed in the unprecedented attack on Israel launched by Hamas at the weekend.Her three children Nicole, Tom and Maya, were surrounded by friends and family as their mother was laid to rest after an emotional service.

"But I think the guilt will be forever with me, until the end of my days. I couldn't save Galit. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute to the war effort."
