Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan says further Covid restrictions are probably ‘not far away’, as cases continue to rise in the state.

Cases have risen steadily in WA in recent weeks, with authorities reporting 20 new infections on Sunday.

While preparations for a steep rise in cases are in place, Mr McGowan said he wouldn’t rule out further restrictions for “problematic” bars and nightclubs.“The details of that are being worked out, obviously we don’t need to put them in place yet but that point in time is probably not far away.”Western Australia recorded 20 new infections on Sunday, with almost all linked to existing clusters.

Eight were linked to nightclub outbreaks in Perth, with a handful connected to the Library Nightclub and Club Bootylicious. Indoor masks are currently mandatory and it’s expected vaccination requirements will come in from next week.“When the time comes, we’ll put in place further public health measures,” Mr McGowan said.

“You don’t want to put them in before you need them, and you don’t want them too late, it's a delicate balance to get it right.Premier Mark McGowan said further restrictions were likely not far away. Obviously people in WA don’t put any real value in true freedom.

Hahahaha see this guy, number 1 bulls&$t guy.

Yes, but unlike the Queensland state government disaster of let it rip, WA has slowed the spread to a trickle.

He's saved lives. Meanwhile LetItRipDom is responsible for many many preventable deaths

Its like 2 years ago on tge east coast Get ready for stupid lockdowns

Lock them down for 6 months over there and see how good their daddy is then.

Putting lives first. A bit of sacrifice and inconvenience to keep people from getting sick and dying makes sense to me MarkMcGowanMP especially on a day when NSW announced 52 deaths. Averaging 82 deaths a day in the east. Zero in the west.

Buckle up Amigos.

Doing the right thing with Covid is still acceptable no matter how much Murdoch media hate it

Wow the amount of people that defend McGowan just staggers me
