Australian Funeral Directors Association president Andrew Pinder said any slip-up could prompt a ban on all funerals, which would have a dire impact on mourners’ mental health.

Funeral directors who are ramping up COVID-19 prevention measures warn they are under intense pressure from grieving families asking them to exceed the 10-mourner limit at services.

Relatives were exerting "extraordinary pressure" by asking for more than 10 mourners, or asking if 10 people could attend one half of a service and 10 others the second half, Mr Pinder said."We’re trying to preserve the ability for people who die in the future, for their families to be able to attend funerals."If people couldn’t have a funeral service in Victoria, the mental health consequences for those left behind could be frightening. They’d be dire.

This step was introduced after one client who was met in person described having, the day prior, hugged and kissed their relative. The staff member involved has been tested for COVID-19 and the funeral has been postponed for 14 days.

People might well be grieving but iMO the push for larger numbers at funerals is culturally driven. In the present climate, these families must be as responsible as we all are expected to be. Anything less, any demands for special considerations. are unconscionable IMO.

Aged care cases suggest Victoria should 'brace itself for more grief', health expert saysEven as Victoria's daily coronavirus case numbers show signs of stabilising, other grim records of hospitalisation rates and daily deaths are being broken in the state — a trend which experts say may continue. But we hear nothing from the ABC of LNP Government failures and their Responsibility into Aged care. But happy to repeat gossip on a uncorroborated anonymous story against Andrews yet again. Fix the headlines. Aged care cases in PRIVATELY owned facilities. Please at the last figures I heard there was only 5 cases in State owned facilities. Melbourne anti-mask rally scupperedA planned anti-mask rally in Melbourne in defiance of strict stage four lockdown laws fizzled out after only a few dozen people attended and were pounced on by waiting police. If only they did this during the black lives matter protest. That protest started the second wave. Looks like All Lives Matter now right? An anti mask rally in Melbourne in the middle of pandemic and when the state is shut?
