The former CEO of failed cryptocurrency exchange FTX says he did not 'knowingly' misuse customers' funds, and he believes his millions of angry customers will eventually be compensated.

Mr Bankman-Fried said he took responsibility for FTX's collapse and he failed to grasp the amount of risk FTX and Alameda were taking on across both businesses.

Other financial companies have gotten into legal hot water for misusing customers' deposits, one example being MF Global about 10 years ago. Sorkin pushed Mr Bankman-Fried on how and when investors would get their money back, to which Mr Bankman-Fried said he largely believed the US affiliate of FTX was entirely solvent and could start processing withdrawals at once.

Why is this guy still free ...with the Press absolutely fawning over him , nauseating .It's obvious he and his dad must have considerable dirt on various pollies there , it's laughable .

He unknowingly misused funds on multi-million dollars purchases for himself and his family.

Yeah, and I did not 'knowingly' ate a whole cake 🤣🤣🤣

Yeah,right!

He is a great example of 'emptyheadeness'

He's a liar and we all know it.

Laundering money for the Democrats.

we need a laugh option

Fraudulent activity or incompetence, either way he must be punished heavily.

Selective reporting by mainstream media including the ABC should be concern. Where are the hard hitting questions? Why are they afraid of asking them?

What is his real name? A crypto guy called Bankman-Fried is a bad pun.

And he is a liar. He embezzled and scammed for the democrat party fundraising, that's why you run this trash and don't mention that! ABC is a bigger scam than SBF

ABC steals from Australians incomes. If it weren't for theft you'd go broke. You 'people' are scum.

Jeff Dahmer didn't 'knowingly' consume those body parts from his victims either. He just figured they didn't need them anymore and hated waste, right?

Oh, that's a relief. All is forgiven.

30-40Billion dollars lost friging weird

Sounds like Ponzi to me.

Metaverse auditors

Oh it must be true then.

Ponzi guy.

He bought properties for his parents for god sake.

Used as a money laundering network for money sent to Ukraine.... Including Australian taxpayers fund...

ABC, the most credible source of misinformation

Smelling bullshit. He knew what he was doing.

He's going to get away with this

Pull the other leg!

If true that is an abject failure as a CEO. But it isn't true, he's just another criminal.

He says he is getting by on one credit card while still in the Bahamas. Nothing sus about the Bahamas.

Funny how they r oh so brilliant but then when they get caught they say ‘duh’

knowingly, 'it all happened in a dream '

The joke is on all who lost their money buying his digital currency.

So.... He did though. Being oblivious while you rob people doesn't make you less culpable. He is a criminal who has donated hundreds of millions to the democratic party and media outlets and the media are protecting him because they are on his payroll. He belongs in prison.

Ignorance or Incompetence, neither a defense for breaking the law. Fraud is fraud. Unless you give enough money to the politicians it seems

Wow, would you look at that. Another member of the tiny hat tribe is above the law... Again...

Load of crap

Whether he did it knowingly or not, it was basically a ponzi scheme.

Absolute crook. What a terrible headline from the ABC. Click bait? This guy and his band of merry criminals needs to be prosecuted and imprisoned. Why do the MSM continue to paint this guy in a glowing light? He's a con man who stole billions of dollars. Jail time!

This a job for the sleuths at RMIT ABC Fact Check.

He should be in custody, but the US justice and political system are so corrupt.

How can I scam other peoples money if I don’t know I’m doing it…

So can we all now accept that mainstream media and and the political class are all ass kissers to donors?

He was stoned out of his mind, so it's possible.

Really. Blowing millions and not knowing. Time for jail

what we learned today is that if you are in the right circles, you can launder and embezzle 8billion of people hard earned money, and literally be applauded for it this is evil

utterly incorrect the mainstream media narrative on this criminal is sickening he purposefully and repeated committed the crypto equivalent of embezzlement i know abc are on the same team that are letting him off..watch for the narrative that the abc spins

A financial 'expert' who mismanages funds, knowingly or not, is by definition a fraud.

Oh piss off.

Please !

Probably didn't know what 'misusing clients funds' was Just a gambler

Bahamas based (🤣) crypto crapto ‘company’ steer clear.

What counts is, did it Get mismanaged? Knowingly or otherwise is Not the point.
