Queensland Police on Wednesday said the death of a four-year-old boy at Munbura, near Sarina, on Sunday was now a homicide investigation.A post-mortem and scientific examination later indicated the cause of death was inconsistent with drowning.

The boy was pulled from the water of a backyard pool at a property in Munbura in August. The circumstances surrounding how and why the child was located in the pool remain under investigation by Mackay Detectives from the Child Protection Investigation Unit’s State Child Trauma Unit.Police are appealing for anyone who may have further information which may assist with investigations, to contact them.
