Homicide detectives are brought in to investigate the disappearance of Priscilla Brooten, with a yard in Bracken Ridge, north of Brisbane, excavated today.

Police are excavating a backyard north of Brisbane as part of an investigation into the suspected murder of missing American woman Priscilla Brooten.The 46-year-old, had lived in Redcliffe and Bracken Ridge for six years.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Hogan said they held grave fears for Ms Brooten and would excavate a Bracken Ridge yard today."We share the fear of Ms Brooten's family and friends and have reason to believe she may have met with foul play." Police are also appealing for information about a blue Volkswagen Golf hatchback, which was found abandoned on Bunton Street, Scarborough on July sixth last year.
