Michael Junkovic, 41, today appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court where he is facing two charges of sexual touching, which allegedly happened while he was a teacher at St Kevin's College in Toorak in 2017.It comes after the principal of the school, Deborah Barker, wrote to parents and carers on Wednesday to reveal that the former staff member had been charged.
Ms Barker said the college had first become aware of "a matter concerning Mr Junkovic" in February last year, and had immediately informed police. She said the school had also informed Carey Baptist Grammar School, which was Mr Junkovic's most recent employer."It's a matter where my client will be pleading not guilty," Mr Schocker said.Mr Junkovic, who today appeared by videolink wearing a suit and tie, will face a two-day hearing in September.
