A former Queensland child protection police officer who was found guilty of grooming a 15-year-old girl has been sentenced to two years in jail.
The District Court in Brisbane heard Hockley met the girl during an investigation and sent her a series of inappropriate messages on social media over several weeks in 2019.

Two years. Parole in 8 months. You'd think a harsher penalty would apply in general, let alone to someone given the powers and public trust inherent to being a cop. Especially one who is specifically entrusted to protect children and investigate those who abuse them.
