A parliamentary inquiry this year heard allegations that former Launceston General Hospital boss Peter Renshaw had falsified death certificates to avoid a coronial inquiry.
Dr Peter Renshaw was the head of medical services at the Launceston General Hospital from 1989 until he retired in 2022. In a statement, a spokesperson for the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency said the National Board only has the "power to suspend a practitioner using interim, 'immediate action' powers, while it undertakes an investigation or other process".Dr Peter Renshaw was director of medical services at the Launceston General Hospital from 1989 until he retired in 2022.
