A former Victorian Labor Party electorate officer has told a corruption hearing he was ordered to buy thousands of dollars' worth of stamps with taxpayer money to support another state MP's re-election campaign.Former Labor electorate officer Adam Sullivan said a number of the stamps were rerouted to MP Tim Richardson for his re-election campaign

Adam Sullivan, who worked in the offices of federal MP Anthony Byrne and former Victorian minister Adem Somyurek, told the hearing while he was working in Mr Somyurek's office, he was told to buy up to $14,000 worth of stamps with the electorate office budget. "A fair number of those [stamps] were rerouted for political purposes to [Mordialloc MP] Tim Richardson," he said.

Is this considered a ridiculous amount? Considering the cost of stamps these days that amount would barely cover a single mail out to an electorate. They probably use pre-paid envelopes for that though I guess.... maybe I should read the article 😉

Why are there so many crooks in politics? 😡

Thought stamps had gone out of favour after all that WAInc. unpleasantness
