A court has been told former Newcastle Knights star Robbie O'Davis will appeal a conviction for assault.
In February in Belmont Local Court, O'Davis, 51, was given an 18-month sentence to be served in the community, known as a community corrections order.Judge Peter McGrath today noted O'Davis intended to appeal his conviction for common assault and resisting a police officer.Police facts tendered in court said the charges stemmed from an incident in November last year."In the early hours of the morning, the victim and accused began verbally arguing.
