Former NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro has fronted the ICAC inquiry into Gladys Berejiklian, declaring there had potentially been a breach of the ministerial code of conduct, but "no corruption".
"A very strong local member, someone who didn't let go, a dog with a bone," Mr Barilaro said of Mr Maguire, the former member for Wagga Wagga.Former NSW deputy premier John Barilaro has fronted the ICAC inquiry into Gladys Berejiklian. The inquiry is looking at whether grants in Mr Maguire's electorate were given any special treatment as a result of his relationship with Ms Berejiklian.
"If the premier ... or Treasurer at the time had declared a conflict of interest, she would not have been part of the conversation or the debate and that would have protected many of us in relation to the decision making."
