Ortelli, 54, competed at Le Mans 15 times between 1995 and 2011. He won outright with Porsche, came second with Audi and raced with Bentley, Peugeot and French maker Oreca. He says the teamwork aspect is particularly rewarding. Although he has driven in the marquee long-distance events at Spa, Nürburgring, Bathurst and Sebring, Ortelli says for atmosphere, tension and top speed, the French enduro is in a class of its own.
