Opposition calls for national lockdown as UK records 17,000 new COVID-19 casesSir Keir Starmer calls for a 'circuit-breaker' national lockdown after it is revealed Boris Johnson's Government ignored its scientific advisors who recommended a similar lockdown last month to halt the spread of coronavirus. The so-called new normal, in which Boris J dictates how many people you can interact with, is dystopian. Am I the only one who is genuinely far more worried about government overreach than COVID-19 (a disease with a 99.5%+ recovery rate)? I wouldn’t recommend it. As a Victorian who has been in lock down since August 2nd, it ruins the economy, impacts mental health and separates families. It’s not going to stop sudsequent waves either. Don’t do it. Labour parties love locking down citizens. It doesn’t stop viruses and only boosts their ego.
