Florida braces for Hurricane Ian after storm makes landfall in Cuba

"Cuba is expecting extreme hurricane-force winds, also life-threatening storm surge and heavy rainfall," the center's senior specialist Daniel Brown said. "Please treat this storm seriously," Hillsborough County emergency management director Timothy Dudley told residents.Waves crash against a seawall as Hurricane Ian passes through Grand Cayman island on Monday.

As many as 300,000 people may be evacuated from low-lying areas in Hillsborough County alone, county administrator Bonnie Wise said.People in Orlando, Florida collected free sand bags in preparation for Hurricane Ian.

That pesky climate change....again.
