'This crocodile was just smashing into the side of his boat.' An overnight fishing trip in the Northern Territory turned into a nightmare when a monster saltwater crocodile attacked two fishermen's boats while they were sleeping. 9News

The boat's motor bore the brunt of the crocodile's attack. A large tooth mark has been gouged into the side."He looked over and saw how long it was and started screaming 'there's a croc, there's a croc'.Then he saw something that sent chills down his spine.Jason Charles is a keen fisherman. Originally from Victoria he moved to the Top End about three years ago.

"I was still sitting up and then there was this massive splash of water, about 10 metres away from my boat," he said, adding his tinnie is only 4.2 metres long."It nearly pulled the motor cover off — there's teeth marks still all on it"."Just seeing the size of its head made me realise how serious this was," he said.
