The NSW Rural Fire Service says an investigation will take place after its prized bomber aircraft crashed into a hanger on Tuesday.

The $26 million firefighting aircraft had been taxying across the tarmac at Richmond Airbase when it struck a hanger door and sustained damage to its nose and one of its engines.

The plane is named Marie Bashir after the late NSW governor and played a critical role in battling the devastating summer bushfires. No one was injured in the slow speed crash, but it is not yet known how long the jet will be out of action.

Hawkesbury mayor urges NSW government to use local contractors in clean up | Sky News AustraliaHawkesbury Mayor Patrick Conolly says his message to the NSW government is to hire local tradespeople to assist in the clean-up once flood waters, which devastated parts of Western Sydney, recede. \n\nHe told Sky News all the people, tools, and trades that would be required in the clean up were available in the Hawkesbury area. \n\n“Our area is full of tradespeople, we have a really high concentration,” he said. \n\n“So the message to the state government would be to make sure you’re including Hawkesbury contractors, try and use our local people who have already suffered enough to do this work.\n\n“A lot of them are out there doing it for free anyway but we don’t want to have … contractors from outside our area to do this work that we could easily do here.”\n\nMr Conolly said for flood-affected residents “the clean up probably couldn’t start quick enough.” \n\n“Certainly the task is not to be underestimated how huge it will be.”\n\n ..ask him about the Windsor Bridge they said was unfloodable Will hire cheap migrant worker instead. My cousin Ibrahim will fix it good price.

'A bit of an overreaction' in NSW for 'effectively one case' | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Chris Smith says he wonders whether the NSW government's imposition of further restrictions is 'a bit of an overreaction' over 'effectively one COVID-19 case'.\n\n'Okay, this particular fellow went to more places in one day than most people would go in a week,' he said.\n\n'But I can't remember at any stage during this pandemic where we've had these restrictions brought in over what is basically one sole case.'\n\n Let’s hope so, the world shows that over reactions are an infinitely better approach than under reactions To be correct its two If we want to *control a virus* ... an 'invisible-enemy' with a 99%+ survival rate that's spread by asymptomatic humans (and seasonally, apparently) ... is our only real option - to *control the humans*? Just 'tell them they are being attacked'! Are WE gullible?

A 'likelihood' NSW will get on top of COVID-19 transmission: Peter Collignon | Sky News AustraliaThe NSW government's response to another case of community transmission of the coronavirus is 'proportional' and has a 'likelihood' of getting control of the spread, according to Infectious Diseases Expert Professor Peter Collignon. \n\n'Well, I think they've adopted a proportional response to what the level of risk is at the moment. There is still one person we haven't found,' he told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.\n\n'But equally 80 per cent of people don't really transmit this to others. \n\n'Secondly, because they get the population on side and comply it decreases the chance of having a super spreading event because they're limiting indoor crowds- particularly without masks.\n\n'And on top of that - so far the people in Sydney in all the past outbreaks have responded very well in getting testing when anybody has any symptoms - and they have been able to get control of this.'\n\n
