Three firefighters have been taken to hospital after their truck rolled over on a highway near the Queensland border. The incident occurred while they were battling a bushfire near Wallangarra.

Three firefighters have been taken to hospital after their truck rolled over on a highway near the Queensland border. About 4.10am emergency services were called to the New England Hwy near Jennings after reports a NSW Rural Fire Service truck had rolled.

“Due to an active bush fire, NSW Police were unable to access the site and requested the assistance of Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and Queensland Ambulance Service,” NSW Police said. Four firefighters became trapped inside the vehicle. Once they were freed, three of them were taken to Tenterfield Hospital. They have all since been released. It’s understood the firefighters were battling a bushfire near Wallangarra. More to come ...
