Finland's Prime Minister Sanna Marin says the Baltic nation feels great sympathy for Ukraine because her people know what it's like to be at war with Russia.

Prime Minister Sanna Marin visits a Ukrainian village devastated by Russian troops.

"We want to make sure that we are under NATO Article Five, that we have that common shield also working for us," she said. "But we are also protection givers, we are not takers. We will enhance the NATO capabilities." Finland enjoys some of the most progressive workplace arrangements in the world, with policies aimed at child-rearing responsibilities being shared by men and women. Despite this, Ms Marin notes there are still problems for women in Finland."We are also seeing double standards … women have to work twice as hard as men and we are seeing that all around society. They have to do everything.

"People would stop me in the streets and say that we are supporting you, and keep on dancing, and they didn't see or feel that there was something that's wrong with that," she said. Prime Minister Sanna Marin says she hopes in future "we as young women aren't always asked about our gender and our age".

The prime minister recognises the importance of sharing some of the ordinary features of her life outside of politics.

Seems like Finland is lucky to have this young lady as PM..

Stay away from NATO and you will be safe, party girl.

Well maybe she should withdraw their UN membership!

Yes, the war on Finnish soil by Nazi Germany was better, it was mutual respect, so why not support far-right neo-nazi in Ukraine...

Something is wrong with Finnish dancer intellectually?

try and join NATO and Russia might attack Finland. it's one of the reasons they went into Ukraine. better to be neutral

or by NATO

You are certainly going the wrong way about achieving that end by joining the NATO attack dogs!

Really? Thought that would be a good thing

MarinSanna is right. My godfather fought for the Finns against the Soviets and told me it was an ugly war fought in very difficult conditions, including extreme cold.

It’s time to join NATO

Not saying things like this is actually the best way to avoid it. There is a time to be hairy-chested (figuratively-speaking I mean).

We don't need puff pieces about Cupie doll poppets from Finland who are nothing more than instagram influencers who've pouted their way into a job out of their depth.

Finpand's joining forces with Nazi Germany and its participation in the seige of Leningrad is kind of overlooked.

Simple Don't join NATO

We don't ever want to see a foreign female PM grilled about a party and her personal feelings again. It was unnecessary and UN Australian.

You have never seen it. Why lie? Remember Germany and Japan? Now best buddies

SniperFella There is only one way to do that. Cripple Russia forever.

she got any prove that russia is going to to attack Finland? very inexperienced PM. EU is leaderless

Do you know thank God she clarified that because we were wondering..

Wasn't Finland an ally of Nazi Germany?

Guess I was right. She's in NZ and Aus to lobby for money and weapons. Along with attempting to have Aus/NZ put pressure on China via our exports.

failed to mention the part where the finns allied themselves with Nazi Germany...

Jacinda Ardern shuts down 'crass' suggestion about meeting with Finnish leaderNew Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern shoots down a reporter's suggestion she and the Finnish leader met simply because of similarities such as their age and gender. 'We are meeting because we are prime ministers, of course.' BOOM, headshot! 🤣 Jacinda is all over “room” harmonics. It’s already dated and developing a stink, because every petty moment like this detracts from bigger issues, just like the Australian Labor party grifters. NZ has never had any relationship with Finland before so that’s exactly why they met.
