The security guard David Fifita allegedly assaulted has signed a peace agreement that could see the Broncos star released from a Bali jail as soon as Sunday night | samphillips06

Fifita has been behind bars for more than 24 hours after he was named as a suspect in an assault case outside a Bali nightclub in the early hours of Saturday.The 19-year-old allegedly assaulted a security guard outside the same nightclub where Melbourne forward Nelson Asofa-Solomona was caught on camera throwing punches at a man who allegedly attacked teammate Suliasi Vunivalu.

"Broncos management and my client David apologise to Dani," Rifan said on Sunday evening. "And he has agreed to accept his apology. We also apologise to La Favela and to Bali. Bali police questioned two witnesses - the alleged victim and a garbage picker - and plan to interview the ojek driver Fifita was travelling with at the time of the alleged assault.
