The money will fund tourism and infrastructure projects in Uluru-Kata Tjuta and Kakadu national parks; Booderee on the NSW south coast; Christmas Island and Canberra's Australian National Botanic Gardens.

Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park

Ms Ley said the investment would support more than 1,000 jobs over the next three years and attract more visitors to the parks. "More than 50 per cent of domestic tourism bed nights are spent doing something with the natural environment. So our parks are front and centre of this."Ms Ley said the parks were open and despite some travel restrictions remaining in place, work on upgrades would start immediately.

"But the fact that this investment, this $233 million is out and the work starts now, means we will have work done."

Open the climb on Ayers Rock that brings in thousands.

it is raining money on Kakadu n nat parks Come n get it boys

Sweet. Let's give the NZ's Great Walks a run for their money!

I'd be interested to know whether the climb ban has impacted tourism or not, it doesn't bother me, but plenty of racist douchebags have been vocal about their intention not to visit Uluru, has it translated into anything?

If they’d like to give me $233 million, I promise to go to every national park in Australia.

You know what brings tourists in? KOALAS. And what is the Fed Govt doing to protect koala habitat and provide support to those working hard on their money to protect koalas? talkingkoala MoondriftMusing KazRockchick

Good move. National Parks are an asset and a relief from city life.

Massive spike in demand for masks leads to sale restrictionsChemists, hardware stores and major supermarkets were inundated with Melburnians searching for supplies, a day after Premier Daniel Andrews said it was 'almost certain' masks would be part of the state government's long-term coronavirus response. If you can't buy one, make your own. What a surprise- NOT! The idiots who pass for government these days...do nothing for months, don’t get more masks in preparation, wait until there’s a massive outbreak then announce it’s now recommended to wear masks. It was clear from about January that masks are a good idea. So he wants everyone to wear masks but doesn't have enough of them. Rightio.
