The man killed in a mine collapse in Victoria ’s west has been identified as father-of-two Kurt Hourigan . Hourigan, 37, was one of two men pinned by rocks in the incident at the operational Ballarat Gold Mine in Mount Clear , just before 5pm on Wednesday. His body was recovered from the mine on Thursday morning, while a 21-year-old was airlifted to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
Tributes have been posted online for Hourigan, who was from Bruthen in the state’s east near Lakes Entrance
