An elderly Queensland father and his daughter are in the middle of an ugly dispute after an almost $1 million lottery win. William John Bampton, 92, won $986,212.30 on Tattslotto in March 2018, court documents say. In August that year, the Twin Waters local gifted $300,000 to his daughter, Suzanne Elaine Vourlides. However, Brampton then alleged he was unduly influenced by Vourlides.
“I do not accept that she did or was capable of bullying Mr Bampton into doing something he did not want to do.” The court documents said Brampton failed to prove he was at a “special disadvantage because of illness, ignorance, inexperience, impaired faculties or financial need”. Brampton then appealed the decision.
