NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet says the Queensland Premier's decision to remain closed to Sydney appears to be politically-motivated policy created on the run, which will hurt both state economies

Add articles to your saved list and come back to them any time.NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet says the Queensland Premier's decision to remain closed to Sydney appears to be politically-motivated policy created on the run, which will hurt both state economies.

NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet addresses the media, flanked by Health Minister Brad Hazzard and Premier Gladys Berejiklian. This comes as WA Premier Mark McGowan announced he was pulling down his state's "hard border" from November 14, but will still require travellers from NSW and Victoria to quarantine for two weeks.

“Queenslanders must be shaking their heads wondering why the premier wants to do everything she can to stifle the economy. The Queensland Premier is clearly making it up as she goes along.” “It is what it is and I suspect the election cycle in both those states has had something to do with it,” Ms Berejiklian said on Friday.

The NSW Treasurer is in a similar position to his Premier. Disgraced and in deep mire due to the icare scandal and should resign. This is only a deflection away from the tragedy this government has become.

What has the NSW Treasurer got to say about iCare and the failings of his Premier ...... “crickets”

Giving Gladys the weekend off from Qld bashing and keeping up the attack. There must be a roster, probs Feds turn Sunday

These Idiots masquerading as journalists should actually look at QLD Law which states that the CHO makes all decisions in a Pandemic the Premier has to by Law Follow the directions of the CHO ! So stop with your BS that Premier Palaszczuk is doing it for Political Purposes!

Hope she loses the election. I’m over her.

NSW politicians seem to not be too busy at work? Why is it ok for NSW to keep VIC out but not for WLD to keep them out? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Perrottet? The one who is mired in the icare scandal. The one who had a staffer paid for out of workers comp funds to the tune of $700K? The one who should have resigned?

Dom knows all about harming the economy. He wasted $137m on unnecessarily replacing Windsor Bridge with another that did not solve either the traffic problem or give flood free access in the Hawkesbury. Just incompetent!

Maybe if NSW had a better Premier the Ruby Princess wouldn’t have unleashed Covid 19 on all states! Zero trust in NSW Premier and CHO!

Now we know the virus is no more virulent than the FLU. 99+% survival. Calling it a 'Pandemic' was nothing more than a SCAM. Masks & Lock Downs were never necessary. Seems most of your Politicians were conned. If not somebody has used the PANDEMIC for their own NEFARIOUS reasons.

I'd love to hear his view on NSW keeping the border closed to Victoria (to be honest, I couldn't iCare less what he says)

Dominic Perrottet is the man that should be before ICAC for his dodgy employment practices with icare.

CMO are corrupt lackeys of premiers

No, she is sticking to the gradual opening up plan as advised by the CHO, as she said she would always do. This has become sooooo boring ie the politicization belongs to the Libs 🙄

After the Ruby Princess debacle and then whitewash You wouldn’t trust Gladys with anything

So let’s talk through the process of keeping NSW closed to regional Victoria with a 0.0 14 day rate, 0 mystery cases and 0 active cases!

Isn’t Perrottet under investigation just another incompetent Liberal

Dom_Perrottet is the guy working on earning some time as the next star of ICAC with his icare connections, yes? That guy? Let's go with the expert advice of the non-corrupt Chief Medical Officer instead

But but she has closed the border to Victoria

Palaszczuk has 'effectively killed Christmas' for hundreds of thousands of families | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Chris Smith says Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has 'effectively just killed off Christmas for hundreds of thousands of families' as her state keeps the borders closed to Sydney.\n\nMr Smith said Australians have learned a lot during this pandemic, but most of all, that some state leaders will act in their own electoral interests before the interests of Australia.\n\n'The Qld Premier has given her Chief Health Officer Jeanette Young outright power to keep the border closed to five million Sydneysiders,' he said.\n\n'Again, no balancing the ledger between the real risk of virus spread and the $3 billion annual hit to the economy from stopping Sydneysiders spending in Qld.\n\n'And Anastasia Palaszczuk was not budging, and 'lock, stock and barrel' is code for the economy doesn't count; jobs and livelihoods don't rate.'\n\nMr Smith said it was not just unreasonable but unnecessary, hurtful and parochial, and totally out of whack with what the Chief Medical Team in Canberra recommended.\n\n'Sydney is not defined as a hotspot. Young has classified all of Sydney, all 32 local Government areas, as a hotspot despite only three local government areas dealing with clusters,' he said.\n\n'It's appalling judgement and hopeless leadership. Life is not risk-free. The future of this pandemic cannot be risk-free. \n\n'Each state and territory needs to share the wear, accept the risk, and allow their people to work and live.'\n\nWA Premier Mark McGowan today announced his state would be lifting its border restrictions to all states, including Victoria, from November 14, instead, introducing its own set of interstate protocols.
