F1 bombshell as Ferrari star in ‘advanced talks’ over shock swap... and Ricciardo’s dream fading

The Formula One driver market has been rocked by a bombshell report claiming Ferrari’s departing star Carlos Sainz could be headed to Williams next season.

Sainz has been in the running for Hamilton’s Mercedes seat, but this week it was reported by Sky Sports that such a move had been ruled out, given that team are delaying a decision in the hopes that Max Verstappen will make a shock defection from Red Bull for 2025. Given the strong chance of Perez only securing a one-year deal at Red Bull, Sainz could sign a single-year deal at Williams and hope to move to Red Bull in 2026.“Behind the scenes I know more,” he said. “You have the rumours and everything, but don’t worry, I’m not going to let slip anything.
