‘F***ing a**hole’: Canelo accuses boxing great of theft in fiery press conference ahead of ‘Mexican war’

Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez had to be held back from Oscar De La Hoya as the press conference between the boxing superstar and Jaime Munguia descended into bitter verbal warfare .

The two have never seen eye-to-eye ever since Alvarez split with De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions in late 2020 and the feud took centre stage at the press conference when the latter referenced the Mexican superstar’s two failed drug tests in 2018. “Though Jaime wasn’t allowed to fulfil his dreams in 2018, on Saturday night he will do just that. Fulfil his dream and be world champion.”

Alvarez quickly launched a stinging attack on De La Hoya and made the staggering accusation the kingpin steals from his fighters.Oscar De La Hoya had plenty to say about Canelo Alvarez at the press conference. “He tried to keep the attention for him, not for Munguia. He’s a f***ing a**hole. He steals from fighters. That’s what he do.Although Alvarez went on the attack when speaking about De La Hoya, he was much more complementary when discussing the fight against Munguia on Sunday.
