Coronavirus has hit all of us hard but one thriving industry is begging for staff - and the government might do some drastic things to find them.

The coronavirus crisis — and the closed borders that came with it — has left thousands of farms across Australia crying out for staff.

Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack confirmed some of the measures on Wednesday, one of which promises backpackers already in Australia a 12 month extension on their visa if they take another regional job.

Here's a thought, why don't we fly in all the refugees that are being kept indefinitely in detention. Give them some healthy fresh air, good food, and a chance to earn some income for a while. Gain some u/standing of culture and a chance to be part of a community JulianBurnside

From chosen professions to picking fruit...ah well at least that’s some consolation after livelihoods we’re deliberately obliterated by an orchestrated economic recalibration disguised as a health crisis. Go V-shape recover yourself!
