Australia Headlines News

Health experts are predicting this week's Easter period could see a surge in undetected cases of COVID-19, as more Australians prepare to travel over the long weekend. 9News

Infectious diseases expert Dr Paul Griffin from the University of Queensland said those experiencing COVID-19 symptoms could be putting off testing, for fear a positive result could interfere with holiday plans.

"We need to make people understand that even if it's a well-deserved break, maybe looking at travelling somewhere nice or catching up with family... if you are unwell, you do need to get tested and stay home." COVID-19 patient Deborah Dowsett said despite showing numerous symptoms, saliva RATs purchased online have all produced a negative result."I followed them to a tee but it just kept coming up negative."Dr Griffin said saliva tests can prove particularly unreliable, encouraging those with symptoms to get a PCR test for more accurate results.

Yer right, but not the just passed GrandPtix...420,000 attended yet not one word was said about Covid

9NewsMelb Well dur

Covid such a killer disease that you have to be tested to know you have it . OMG just stop the fear!!!!! Let us all get on with our lives. Enough is enough🙏🙏🙏💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼🙏🙏🙏

Gold coast theme parks are pumping. So many people it's great to see everyone again.

😂😂

Undetected as in so mild the people don't even know they have it? Jesus whats happened to us

9NewsAdel Just stop it…mainstream media posting headlines hoping for a story🤦‍♂️

Go away you muppets, leave us alone.

Fact….a very predictable outcome. More sick people = absenteeism up

9NewsAdel Lets see if Australia can go from number 5 highest daily COVID case numbers in the world (like today), to number 1...🙄

Oh just faaark off - we don’t care anymore

We need to be more careful Masks and social distancing and good hygiene and looking after each other

SO WHAT

They are all undetected, there is no test that can detect something that to date has not been proven to exist!!

Above the 200,000 a week cases they predicted?

Experts desperate not to fade back into irrelevancy.

RIP COVID , no dramas during Easter please

So boring now 🥱

Detected (as if you’re a criminal) only if you get tested (for a cold)….. EnoughIsEnough

Health experts lol

9NewsAdel The article says ‘unreported’ not ‘undetected’. I suspect shutting businesses and isolation has backfired and people with symptoms are unlikely to report themselves. The message could have been kinder and more effective. “If you don’t feel well, stay home.

So?

One side they say rules will be eased and this comes. Lmao 🤣

Whatever 🙄

Experts are not psychic, they're planning not predicting

You'll still have the fringe covid cultists trembling with fear, but the vast majority of Australians don't give a shit.

FxckU and your ‘experts’, 9FakeNewsNetwork

Expert confident Western Australia has passed its COVID-19 peak, but warns against complacencyAn epidemiologist says Western Australia has passed its Omicron peak, but there are more challenges ahead, with new outbreaks and pandemics on the horizon. Will it keep the strawberry producers happy? Hopefully it has peaked but we could also be going through this phase👇 Ongoing precautions are still warranted, given there is less PCR testing & genomic sequencing now.
