Australia's alliance of former emergency services chiefs has warned Prime Minister Scott Morrison that a bushfires royal commission will fail unless it focuses on climate change.
The cohort argues that the commission will also fail if it prioritises fuel reduction as a"silver bullet" because this season's blazes were weather-driven with a huge number ignited by lightning not arsonists. "I've been fighting fires for almost 50 years and this summer I've seen things I never imagined," Mr Mullins said.

This is old news and Greg Mullins writes for the Climate Council and is just pushing climate change. There is nothing Australia can do to change the climate. In fact if the whole world stopped using fossil fuels it will not stop the climate changing.
The Royal Commission is mainly a marketing ploy to deflect any responsibility from Morrison's negligence and to sweep the causation of climate change under the carpet. It will also provide justification for land clearing and other detrimental greed based conservative policies.

How about it focuses also on the potential lack of hazard reduction burns and forestry management? Fire permits and fire burning periods. Local council involvement with land clearance etc. The ACT ban on collecting fire wood for example. Lots of things to also look at.
