A flight carrying up to 100 Australian citizens and Afghan interpreters evacuated from Kabul is due to arrive in Perth overnight.
"These evacuees are a mix of Australians and visa holders, obviously mainly the interpreters and the like that assisted our defence forces in Afghanistan," Mr McGowan said.The evacuees will be transported from Perth International Airport to the Hyatt hotel in the city, where several floors have been cleared to make way for them.
WA Premier Mark McGowan says every precaution will be taken with the new arrivals to protect the community from COVID-19.
