A US-Mexico border bridge has become ground zero for an escalating humanitarian crisis with close to 10,000 migrants gathering at the site in recent days.

On his first day in the Oval Office the Democrat President scrapped several of his predecessor’s immigration policies and brought an end to the construction of the border wall.

During the month of July this year it was reported the number of migrants held at the border exceeded 200,000 for the first time in 21 years according to government data. This was a 28 per cent jump since January and three times as many migrants seeking entry to the US than the number recorded one year prior under the Trump administration.

The temporary camp has few basic services and residents have been pictured bathing in the Rio Grande river amid soaring temperatures of 37 degrees Celsius.

Why Australia's new defence pact with the US and Britain is so significantANALYSIS: While ditching a $90 billion deal with the French is a massive diplomatic move by Australia, the real underlying consequence of the new US-UK pact surrounds our highly conflicted relationship with China. Scomo just made the best decision Australia has made in decades. Nuclear energy next please. White Anglo power is still going on despite the end of the evil British Empire which committed so many atrocities on us and other natives for generations! And what will we do the next few hours after the first shot? Just to be prepared

This pact ties Australia to any US military engagement against ChinaIt amounts to dramatic loss of sovereignty, writes the former Australian prime minister. A really dumb move. But what would you expect? Morrison has made it his goal to put us at loggerheads with China since he became PM. Best Prime Minister in my lifetime. But can’t agree with his anti-US, pro-China stance, even though some of the points are valid Australia is tied to any US engagement and Paul Keating knows this.
