Just one week after the end of the Uluru climb, Parks Australia has flagged the first fee increase at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in 16 years.

The cost of entering Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park could rise by up to 52 per cent under proposed changes from Parks Australia.Children, motorcycles and Yulara residents would gain free entry under the new fee structureUluru climb permanently closed,

Parks Australia has informed tourism operators new park fees will come into effect from November 1, 2020. In an email to tourism operators seen by the ABC, the cost of entry for visitors over 18 and Northern Territory residents will increase, but children, motorcycles and Yulara residents will be able to enter the park free of charge. An adult three-day pass will increase from $25 to $38 and annual adult passes will rise from $32.50 to $50.

In its email, Parks Australia said the price to enter the park had not increased for 16 years and the price hike was in line with inflation.

In that regard, I agree with you...💋

All they need to do is make this one fee across the whole of the state! Visited recently and experienced fees everywhere. The other states seem to have it all sorted, just saying.

How many Possum pelts for 1 Adult?

....more money to do less? That’ll work.

And you can still climb Mt Kilimanjaro and hike down the Grand Canyon for the price. auspol racialdivisiondecisions

haha

Pay more and receive less. Yeah, that will work 😂

I want money, yeah yeah, that's what I want!

Less for more. Rapacious capitalism at its best

Climbing ban just destroyed the tourist industry at Ayres Rock not allowed to climb not as many will go its that simple

I walked around Uluru Rock that was quite enjoyable.

Well that should guarantee that no one visits the place again

Close a tourist attraction and the lift the price for people to stand there and look at it.......yep that'll work.

Hope people blacklist the place. Plenty of great photos to view all aspects of it, besides go there and all you would hear is people whinging they can’t climb anymore. Not my idea of a holiday.

Karl Dyason's comparisons clearly show they charge as much as they think they can get away with to maximise profits, rather than just to cover operating costs and maintenance as they would have us believe. Honesty would be appreciated

'Kilimanjaro National Park, Machu Picchu and the Grand Canyon National Parks' are worth every dollar to see and experience, whilst Uluru ?

Good. Stop the grey nomads and bogans...

I saw Uluru on the iPad last night, saved myself a fortune and cut out pollution by unnecessary travel. Why travel when all you can do is look. I did that from the comfort of my couch. I'm betting I'd be part of a percentage now than climbing has been banned.

And cue all the people complaining (again) about not being able to climb...

Got to pay for that beautiful view.

They can bang it right up their ARSE.

Inflation 52% in Australia now?

Marketing genius. Hike up prices while banning climbing 👏

A 3-day pass will increase by $12. If you can afford the flights/drive to Uluru, I doubt this will break you. 🙄

'Increasing costs of maintaining the park' shouldn't they just leave it maintain itself naturally?

Big waste of time and money gets bigger.

Yeah nah pass.

No one really owns Uluru.

This year, 312 people have not come home after a day on the roadComment: It's time to do something different with speed cameras, writes David McTiernan WA use to have signs. But I see many people who drive act like morons. It's selfish me me me society and not a care for anyone else. I still say women seem to speed more for some reason. In the 80's it was only the men hoons now it's the women. This story is total bulshit. Signs stating that are speed camera is near makes people slow down immediately. You mean use them as something other than revenue raising?

Egg farmers push for price rise amid fears of dairy-style collapseMajor and smaller supermarkets are upping the price of eggs as chicken farmers become the latest casualties in the ongoing drought. Most consumers are idiots. The people who stay in loyalty programs that reward them with a one way flight to Shepparton every 10 years have bought into advertising that the point of difference between Woolies and Coles is who has the lowest prices. Don't buy $1 milk for starters. Unfertilised chicken embryo 🤢 TBH, I don’t have a lot of sympathy for an industry that lobbied for and got a 10,000 birds per hectare stocking limit for free range eggs instead of the 1500 experts recommended. I’m happy to pay $6-$8 a carton for genuine free range eggs but I’m not paying for fakes.

The race that divides a nation: Why controversy surrounds this year’s Melbourne CupWhile more than two million people in Australia are expected to watch Tuesday's race, a recent exposé on the mistreatment of retired racehorses has given anti-racing activists the fuel to spread their message further. Flogging a dead horse still I see. You can bet on SBS and the ABC to denigrate all days of importance to most Australians. The Melbourne Cup, Australia Day, Anzac Day etc. That’s a sure fire bet. and abcnews. The publicly funded left wing news organisations that actively work to divide the nation.
