Thanasi Kokkinakis and Nick Kyrgios are through to the quarter-finals at the Australian Open and have a message for the No.1 seeds they knocked off on Friday | samphillips06 SMHsport

Thanasi Kokkinakis and Nick Kyrgios shed light on the “funny” locker room spat which made headlines around the world as the pair booked their place in the Australian Open men’s doubles quarter-finals.

“They said we were showboating, but I’m sure if we played away in Croatia, it would have been the same thing. “I know I’m definitely in a different mindset. I don’t know what’s happened, I feel different. In the past when I’ve played doubles, I haven’t felt like I’ve done enough on court. Now, I’m making more returns than I used to. I’m trying to lead by example, in a way, but he’s playing great as well.”“We are bringing the game to new levels. Not just on a doubles court,” he said.
