There is nothing in the ScottMorrisonMP government’s new so-called ‘energy roadmap’ which offers any hope to return to a “rational energy system” focused on producing cheap and reliable energy, according to Peta Credlin.

There is nothing in the Morrison government’s new so-called ‘energy roadmap’ which offers any hope to return to a “rational energy system” focused on producing cheap and reliable energy, according to Peta Credlin. The government has revealed a list of five new and emerging technologies it is planning to invest in as part of a roadmap to bring down emissions.

The five major investments included clean hydrogen, energy storage, green steel and aluminium, carbon capture and storage, and soil carbon projects. “The so-called road map is all about throwing money at emerging low emissions technologies that might – I repeat might – eventually work,” Ms Credlin said. “But in the meantime, relatively cheap 24/7 coal-fired power is exiting the system, and being replaced by wind and solar that's only cheap when the wind blows and the sun shines.
