LNP Senator mattjcan says he is “very focused on is making sure we do not glibly sign up to these fantastical, ridiculous next generation target like net zero emissions by 2050 and cripple our economy in doing so”.

LNP Senator Matt Canavan says he is very focused on “making sure we do not glibly sign up to these fantastical, ridiculous next-generation target like net-zero emissions by 2050 and cripple our economy in doing so”. Mr Canavan told Sky News he was "happy to reduce carbon emissions" but they should go about it in a "realistic way".

He said “one of the reasons we have met out Kyoto targets is because we stopped farmers clearing their trees" and as a result “their opportunity to grow and develop their part of this great nation has been diminished”. Opposition leader Anthony Albanese announced Labor’s commitment to achieving net zero emissions by 2050 however this is a “policy which would have to see us end coal exports in a generation” Mr Canavan said.

mattjcan Especially now

mattjcan Wake up !

mattjcan Hey Matt, will you be asking Boris Johnson for a please explain over his greeny NetZero emissions by 2050 policy?

mattjcan By protecting the jobs in mining which are less than around 100000 we are crippling our economy anyway

mattjcan So good to see someone with sanity.

mattjcan There's not much between those wingnuts 😂

mattjcan Keep it up Matt 👍

mattjcan Why are the idiots given so much air time?

mattjcan A MAD MAN DANAGEROUS TO AUSTRALIAS FUTURE

mattjcan The only economy he cares about comes in brown paper bags from Gina.

mattjcan Matt's got big balls, not like the opposition cohorts. Who else is sick of knocky knee weak politicians?! Good onya Matt.

mattjcan Yes, he's for more mass destruction & death of our landscape and wildlife and the continued sell off of every Australian asset to China or India at junk prices.

Qlder mattjcan Is ' fantastical ' an actual word ?

mattjcan But 70 other countries including the Uk and Germany have?

mattjcan Bugger the States are BCA are.

mattjcan “We’re more than capable of crippling the economy in our own way we’ll before 2050”

mattjcan mattjcan there should be no emission targets at all because they are totally ridiculous. They damage our economy while having absolutely no impact on the environment. Why do you think you should ponder to the Labor/Greens loonies and the ABC/Guardian political provocateurs.

mattjcan mattjcan you would make a great prime minister. Aim high our country needs you, and thank you.

mattjcan And here we have Warren Buffet in yesterday’s Berkshire Hathaway annual letter. - Wind has reduced our cost of generating energy - and is a competitive advantage. - But what would Warren know about numbers compared to Matt CoalVan? auspol

mattjcan Opposing a net-zero emissions 2050 target will cripple our economy. Inaction could cost Oz $2.7trillion. CSIRO says net-zero means higher growth/wages & lower energy cost. If there’s no net-zero plan at COP26 get ready for carbon tariffs on our exports

mattjcan Also, does anyone care about what this lil poop weasel has to say? Don’t give him a platform.

mattjcan Says the guy owned by coal.

mattjcan If the UK Tories are doing this......

mattjcan Matt caravan: “I only care about my wallet and my mates wallet for the next 10 years. Your grandkids wallets and their health don’t matter to me”

mattjcan So he's going to make sure the economy tanks and there's less jobs as services and boomer welfare are slashed. Seems legit

mattjcan How many shares does he have in mining companies?

mattjcan Sorry don't trust matt no reservation policy done, gas is a better option can fire up quickly, but then QLD does have a lot of coal, as I said sorry can't trust matt

mattjcan Like Craig kelly. Backbenchers ex minister for Adani. Who Cares stamp lickers.

mattjcan Nepotism Cronyism How can objective decisions on coal be made by an easily bribed cretin whose brother owns a coal mine? LNPfail AuspolSoCorrupt auspol auspol2020

mattjcan Are you sure you are not just worried about your own income?

mattjcan Well sad

mattjcan The Canavan coal crusaders seem to be forgetting the planet will be uninhabitable for their children.

mattjcan There should be a royal commission into the science - led by skeptical scientists who aren’t in the pocket of either big green or big oil.

mattjcan Because “FK THE NEXT GENERATION” Right... couldn’t be clearer a**wipe!

mattjcan Why is the take away always, but the economy.. if the planet is uninhabitable, i'm not sure the economy is a concern.

mattjcan How so Matty?

mattjcan Our economy will be crippled if we don’t start to transition away from thermal coal. Those coal jobs will inevitably disappear as renewable energy gets cheaper. Canavan is putting the future of Qld mining towns in jeopardy.

mattjcan what about your leader signing us up to 30km speed limits I can walk faster...

mattjcan And mattjcan is correct 👍. Next, AlboMP will want all Aussies to wear red undies on their head by 2099.... rabidgreenlunaticleftcircus

mattjcan Go hard son, many are with you.

mattjcan Well done.... Some sanity ClimateChangeHoax

mattjcan What a goose. Every country in the world is signing up to net zero by 2050. Has this guy been in the dark ages?

mattjcan Queenslanders, get ready to throw Labor out

mattjcan His Coalition Government are the only ones not committed to do anything on Climate Change even a Boris Johnson Conservative Government has committed to shut down coal fired power stations by 2024.

mattjcan Well mattjcan we would have preferred you kept your portfolio. You've got a Bill from the fairy godmother in Warringah coming up and she has nothing to do but create mayhem. You see, it's lack of cold blooded comprehension that claws. That's before we get to a plan

mattjcan He would rather cripple our economy by steadfastly remaining in the past. No vision for the future.

mattjcan Fantastical seems to be the conservative word of the week. 🙄

mattjcan Machines will take our jobs! Cars will kill walking! Flouride will make you sick! Streaming will kill music! Clean energy will cripple our economy! Imagine if we'd listened to the ignorant luddites like Canavan throughout history LOL... We'd still be living in caves!

mattjcan Why do we even have an emissions target? CO2 is not a problem. Whoever invented the term 'carbon pollution' should have their local CO2 reduced to 100ppm... we DO know what happens then. Any targets should relate to clean air and clean water. Note, CO2 is part of clean air!

mattjcan Translation: mattjcan wants his personal wealth to continue to receive corrupt donations from the coal industry. Why do morons keep voting this self serving destructionist back into office.

mattjcan He’s a Denier and a Neanderthal. What this Goose says is of NO Interest to anyone who has the ability to understand the science for themselves. A Complete Gibberer. And gets Too Much Exposure in your Biased Right Wing Rag.

mattjcan Sensible

mattjcan 71 other countries have already committed to 0/2050 and Australia is ideally suited to renewable energy. mattjcan is just another lying grub feathering his own nest.

mattjcan Well said. The leftist Greens and Labor party are waging a war on coal that can hurt the Australian economy and destroy the lifestyle and future of Australian families. If thy have their way Like Obama in the US we will have to undo the harm at a big cost for our people.

mattjcan Who cares about the economy? I care about future generations

mattjcan There is much madness here

mattjcan But he is happy to cripple our economy by continuing down a road that the whole world knows is leading us to destruction. Backwoods thinking.

mattjcan Who says money can't buy influence?

mattjcan Foolish, short-sighted nonsense.

mattjcan Poor Matt, relevance deprivation from the BACKBENCH. While the rest of the sane world commits to zero emissions by 2050, these dinosaurs do nothing. 7 years of nothing. 7 years of wasted time. 7 years of no action. 7 years of filling their pockets. 7 years of lies.

mattjcan Start at the beginning: What's the Objective of emissions targets? A 0.0001 degree reduction in global temperatures? Meeting treaty obligations that should never have been agreed to in the first place? The elimination of drought in Australia? Or just a warm fuzzy feeling?

mattjcan I'll bet he does.

mattjcan

mattjcan

mattjcan Sun-kissed land that can turn sustainable non-fossil fuel economy overnight!! After having a bumper lottery of jumbo island brimming with resources & decimated the oldest surviving human societies; callous complacency shall live on being habitually backward, racist & misogynist!!

mattjcan LNP would rather do nothing than see 2050 as a target for Zero emissions

mattjcan Desk-jockey makes a promise. Phewww!

mattjcan How can someone that said he 'forgot' to declare a couple properties, blocked numerous freedom of information requests & is buried in coal industry connections up to his neck, be focussed on anything but his own bank account? CoalWhores

mattjcan So instead we'll cripple future generations with the debt of a broken climate and the failed economics of coal. 👍🏽
