The tech billionaire exposed the bad incentive that caused bots and trolls to proliferate on the platform as he opened up about the first six weeks as boss.

Musk described the changes to Twitter’s user verification system as a “huge” factor, both for revenue and improving the user experience.

The company has also added a system for verifying the organisations user claim to be affiliated with – part of a “detailed nuanced verification” system that will allow users to tell if the claims people make about themselves – such as where they work – are true.April 21, 2022 “If the incentive structure is like, maximise the appearance of monetisable daily active users then that’s a strong incentive to pretend that a bot is real, and that’s what happened,” he said.“We’ve taken a lot of steps to reduce the bots and trolls situation – so many – and I think you’re seeing that in the usage.”

Musk also revealed his thinking on the issue of free speech and what content ought to be allowed on the platform. “There is more of an allowance for what what someone might call hate speech, but it’s not going to be promoted. We’re not going to be recommending hate speech, to state the obvious.“There are some things that people might consider hate speech which will hit trends, but that will be relatively unusual.”

'Monetizable users' is the same reason why Google is so crap. Similarly Google is moderated by shadowy US business interests protected by a deep state conspiracy.

Ah Rupert taking a knee to Musk , yes the platform has issues BUT has he solved them? The jury is out while Tesla burns

I like Musk, he's annoying all the right people. 😏

Elon, buy channel 10 and burn it down

Pre elonmusk only verified users had access to producer (streaming) amplify (monetization) Twitter has tools in place to compete with YT, TTV, Vine & Medium. Unlocking all of this to creators will make Twitter the most profitable sm platform by the end of 2023 to advertisers

I share his outlook for twitter

What he has done far outweighs any “bots” etc etc. What he has done is show the world what those in control don’t want seen & their bots, well, their just rats clawing at a cage “they” put themselves in. Come get the cheese & say please, while he brings MSM, to its knees🐣

Well and truly time elonmusk got an adult in to run the show. It's what he promised.

Elon, please buy Sky News next.
