Time magazine has named Tesla chief Elon Musk as its 'Person of the Year'.

Time editors have previously defined the title as recognising people who"embodied what was important about the year, for better or for worse".Time magazine has named Tesla chief and space entrepreneur Elon Musk as its 'Person of the Year', citing his embodiment of the technological shifts but also concerning trends that were reshaping people's lives.

"Musk's rise coincides with broader trends of which he and his fellow technology magnates are part cause and part effect," Time editor-in-chief Edward Felsenthal wrote. Time editors have previously defined the title - which last year went to US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris - as recognising people who "embodied what was important about the year, for better or for worse."In October, Mr Musk's electric car company's valuation soared above a trillion dollars, and SpaceX has teamed up with US space agency NASA to launch various missions including a test run of protecting Earth from an asteroid.

The award recognises the person who 'embodied what was important about the year'.... money, self above community and frivolous waste of resources. Time nailed it.

But do Time magazine's readership, mostly born before the French Revolution, even know who Musk is

Rudolph Giuliani and Adolph Hitler were also named 'person of the year' sooooo

What does a year look like to you? If it's round and fuzzy, you may have time-space synaesthesiaIf the past year felt like a bloated mass of time that never seemed to end, you're not alone. But some people always visualise time as a 3D form — pandemic year or not. Mine is an ellipse, Jan 1 is at the far left, it turns in July and comes back full oval. My years are a massive 3-D series of twists and turns that get higher and higher as the years go by... and a little more fuzzy as I anticipate the future. I have sound-taste synaesthesia. A note out of key will cause a bad taste in my mouth. You can't see a year, it's a BS comparivive measurement to document a sequence of events. A constant quoted in units that are variables
